When closing out of community, making sure, subcontractors understand that there are residents now living in the house and to play loud music and be disruptive throughout the day is a huge nuisance. The builder team has really helped out to make sure that the noise is down to a minimum, but I would just recommend having an important meeting to state that beforehand. Living in our community, where there is construction there is already enough noise, which is completely acceptable, but to add loud music on top of it and yelling and screaming throughout the day is unnecessary and unprofessional. |

I think one of the biggest suggestions I could make would be an official customer portal for questions or concerns. While this home is not a custom home it is certainly not a small starter home. It would have been really nice to be able submit our questionsphotos and have either Erin, Kyle or someone further up the chain (if necessary) be able to address them (rather than Erin having to review our questions and track down the builder(s) and be the middleman for all concerns). We recognize that the team is working on so many other homes at the same time and as I said earlier, Erin has been amazing. I just think it would be more efficient to have our questions pushed to our team through an app portal etc. |

They were awesome about making sure everything was in the right place and fixing anything that wasn't. We have loved working with our project manager and designer. They have been very patient and thorough throughout the process. |
As someone who has worked for a roofing company for nine years, the biggest thing I'm not happy with is the roof. The shingle bundles are stacked on the ridge, causing them to curl, and they are installed too close together. We are working with the designer and project manager to resolve those issues. We also don't love the dryer vent going through the roof because that can be a fire hazard with lint, better to vent straight out siding. And there have been some selections that have been crazy expensive that the pricing doesn't make sense on why it is three to five times the cost we would expect and can get after closing. Otherwise, we have loved the entire process and loved working with Signature. |

A little more attention to detail with the landscaping. The clay soil around the community makes it difficult top properly grownurture landscaping. The community is full of arbor vitaes that are deadbrown due to improper rooting issues. Most of our landscaping is struggling due to having a loose 3-4 inches of topsoil holding them in place over clay. Maybe taking a little time to auger the locations that plantsflowersbushes are placed to provide a deeper bed and increase their ability to thrive.

It’s an impressive operation. With a large community already built and a design studio so easily accessible, it made the “unknown” elements of a first-time home build much more imaginable. The customer service from everyone has been great. We were especially impressed with Erin. She’s been extremely timely in her responses, and even though I’m sure we asked more questions than 95% of your customers, she never made us feel like we were being a burden — at all. That’s very important to my wife and I, and we believe she deserves a ton of credit for her good, hard work. |
The only part of the process where we were disappointed was the $1,000 change-order fee. We were aware of the fee in advance, but it honestly feels like a money grab. We know these changes slow down your process and it might even be a normal practice in the industry, but I’m sure it doesn’t take much time to have something changed. As a customer, we also want to have our decisions made by the deadline so we can also move forward, but especially as a first-time buyer, this process is new to us and we’re learning along the way. We’re naturally going to have a thing or two we wish we could change. I’d also point out that no orders had even officially been made by your company yet. In addition, our change-order was to spend MORE money and add a waterfall countertop. It’s not like we were removing something from our order and wanting to spend less. Maybe one change could be allowed per customer. You could also adjust your overall pricing model slightly to account for the few people who will “slow down the machine.” In general, when you’re being “penalized” by someone we feel “in it together” with and paying $1.2 million to, it doesn’t feel great. |
