A little more attention to detail with the landscaping. The clay soil around the community makes it difficult top properly grownurture landscaping. The community is full of arbor vitaes that are deadbrown due to improper rooting issues. Most of our landscaping is struggling due to having a loose 3-4 inches of topsoil holding them in place over clay. Maybe taking a little time to auger the locations that plantsflowersbushes are placed to provide a deeper bed and increase their ability to thrive.

Its an impressive operation. With a large community already built and a design studio so easily accessible, it made the unknown elements of a first-time home build much more imaginable. The customer service from everyone has been great. We were especially impressed with Erin. Shes been extremely timely in her responses, and even though Im sure we asked more questions than 95% of your customers, she never made us feel like we were being a burden at all. Thats very important to my wife and I, and we believe she deserves a ton of credit for her good, hard work. |
The only part of the process where we were disappointed was the $1,000 change-order fee. We were aware of the fee in advance, but it honestly feels like a money grab. We know these changes slow down your process and it might even be a normal practice in the industry, but Im sure it doesnt take much time to have something changed. As a customer, we also want to have our decisions made by the deadline so we can also move forward, but especially as a first-time buyer, this process is new to us and were learning along the way. Were naturally going to have a thing or two we wish we could change. Id also point out that no orders had even officially been made by your company yet. In addition, our change-order was to spend MORE money and add a waterfall countertop. Its not like we were removing something from our order and wanting to spend less. Maybe one change could be allowed per customer. You could also adjust your overall pricing model slightly to account for the few people who will slow down the machine. In general, when youre being penalized by someone we feel in it together with and paying $1.2 million to, it doesnt feel great. |

I would be giving a 10 for the entire process except i was very disappointed after the final walk through. My husband and i spent four hours making a list of touch ups and spent an additional four hours with Chris blue taping at the walk-through. He was very nice and blue taped everything i asked about however, it seems that the trades came in and just took all the tape off. The floors had a glue or drywall dust all in the planks and still to this day i cannot get it out- I'm very sad about this because we paid to upgraded to engineered wood in most all areas. I would recommend installing hardwoods towards the end of the project and keep them covered. Our cabinets in kitchen are not flush or level almost every drawer door is off and our vent hood was never nailed together- I pointed this out during the walk through and even at the 30 day follow up this has yet to have been completed. We have two windows that are scratched and on back order and still waiting for those. The home was final cleaned before walk through and i felt it really needed another clean before closing.
I would recommend signature homes to a friend- I'm a local realtor and have worked in on site sales for builders for the last 9 years and chose signature to build own home because i knew they build beautiful communities, homes and offer great selections! However, i would advise others to not close until everything has been addressed from final walk. My husband and i were in between homes and staying in an air bnb so i signed off hoping these items would be fixed after closing.
The customer service was outstanding from the sales team, design team, and builders. Brooke, Kassie, Erin, and Kyle were all fabulous! |

We believe an option to have the fireplace with a chimney would have made us more comfortable with the health implications of the fumes coming into the main room. Seriously my primary reason is that Signature stands behind their product. I have had incredible service from the warranty team (Chris and Jessica)and any problems that I have encountered have been taken care of in a timely fashion.(there are a few remaining). In addition, I feel that the community looks so well put together. Greg from S&S does an amazing job aesthetically with personalized soft scape choices, and he is the nicest person on the planet-going beyond in every area and so extremely dedicated. The people that I have encountered have been a main reason why I am glad that I bought from Signature.

Well, my home backs to a retention pond. Being from out of state, I dont really understand them. I think they are a huge eyesore and there must be a better way of maintaining a more pleasant look. Although I have contacted the engineering department for Williamson County, I got absolutely no response. I would hope that a builder would provide better care of these ponds if they are necessary. Again, Greg @S&S is committed to improving the looks of these areas and has begun already. Due to that effort, the surrounding of the retention pond has started to improve. I believe more could be done such as solar powered fountains to keep the water moving and prevent mosquitoes and gross looking growth on the top of the water. |
