In general, very happy with the build, the design, the quality and most importantly with the people who we interacted with. |
Here are 3 easy items which would make the end product much more perfect:
1. put control cuts in the slab, especially in the garage. The previous builds we had all did this and it greatly decreased the cracking of the slab as it shrinks. All slabs shrink and crack, but when you run a saw over the concrete shortly after pouring it, they tend to crack in the cut. Our garage slab has a lot of random cracking which looks unsightly, but I don't think is structural.
2. put in swing restrictors in the cabinet doors which are against a wall or other obstruction to keep them from hitting.
3. design deeper opening where the refrigerator goes. even with a counter depth fridge, it sticks out more than desired.
The first two above would only be a minimal additional time for a subcontractor, but would be a real improvement. The third would take incorporating in the design. |

It depends on the age. I am aware of construction the amount of dust is overwhelming and it's difficult to keep up. The houses are covered with dirt and door knobs its changing the color of the bricks. I don't like having to try and go a block for my mail. |
The mailboxes are in front of the houses. I am not sure about the dust. It would be helpful to water down the outsides of the houses monthly. |

The designer (Ashley) needs to be familiar with the product when they start selling. Theyshe needs to provide help during design process because it can be overwhelming. Follow thru and follow up is important - most of the team was spot on. Glad we switched designers to Emma - it was just to late.
